Toddlers

Toddlers

When children reach the toddler room, at 1- 2 years old, they are offered a more structured play and learning environment catering to their individual needs. This is a transitional time for your child and while in this room you will see many changes.

At this point their motor skills are improving and their interest in arts, crafts and music activities are encouraged by following documented guidelines of the early child care & education system.

Summary

•In the Toddler Room we introduce more advanced equipment, arts and crafts and a daily schedule of activities.

•Your child’s vocabulary will increase and they will soon be able to form simple sentences.

•They will make lots of little friends and will enjoy taking part in group learning.

•By the time your child is ready to leave the Toddler Room they will have a good level of communication and will now be able to retain vast amounts of information and to formulate ideas.

•During this time, we will also work with you to toilet-train your child when you decide the time is right.

Toddlers have a variety of activities in place which encourages them physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially as they grow in independence. The relationship between carer and the toddler is one of understanding and expectation which is realistic and fair. The changes in this group are by far the greatest where friendships are sealed and rows abound! The boundaries are set through clear guidance by the carer and as children mimic adults lead by example.
